Hi! I'm Beth, better known as BB or Mama to those who love me most, and this is my little bright spot in the great big world of the internet. It's my goal to share my life with you in hopes that this space can be a bright spot for you as well!
I know that this hasn’t been the brightest time of any of our lives, and I think now that re-opening dates have been set for almost every kind of business and I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel, I’m feeling more optimistic about our new “normal” and the fact that we can go sit down and eat Mexican food again soon! #chipsandsalsafordays
My kiddos have been doing school from home of course, and while I am no teacher, we’ve actually had fun with some of the assignments and it makes me so grateful that I was able to be home with them to watch their little minds work and figure things out on their own. We’ve also had fun just creating new games, playing around outside a lot, and discovering things together so I hope you enjoy some of the pictures from our Quarantine Fun!
I hope that you have been able to share some of these bright spots with your families during this time in Quarantine like we have. What fun things have you been up to?
Good Monday Morning! When trying to see the bright spots in life, Monday mornings are usually not where you would think to go, but after reflecting on this past weekend, I’m starting off my Monday feeling extremely blessed. This weekend was full of family, outside time, and sunshine. It really doesn’t get much better than that!
Saturday morning we began the day in the beautiful sunshine by helping my mom plant the big garden that she feeds us out of all year long…Several rows of green beans, lima beans, corn, tomatoes, squash, potatoes, cauliflower and cucumbers, my mouth is already watering thinking about all of them! We spent the rest of the day playing outside and enjoying the wonderful weather.
On Sunday morning, we lazed into the day, attended out online church services, and then headed over to my mom’s for some sweet Gamma snuggles and a Sunday dinner of fried chicken, lima beans, chuckwagon biscuits, brussel sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn. It was absolutely incredible. We had a small storm roll through after lunch, and then it was back outside again, where my kiddos made the best mud pie ever.
We also have a stray cat that has adopted us and who Mia affectionately named Stacey Rosie Robbins, that decided she needed to join us for our outside time.
And to top off the weekend, I got an early Mother’s Day present! I now have two of these gorgeous hanging plants outside. I am so blessed! Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!
This sweet looking Poopsie Slime purse has been the bane of my existence since Christmas…I know that sounds so dramatic, lol. Maybe it’s not quite that bad, but my sweet little six year old received this ginormous slime kit as a gift and I promise you, those large, mascara laden eyes have followed me around the house ever since…Mocking me. If you’re a parent that’s ever dealt in slime, you know where I’m coming from, but yesterday was the day. My precious daughter wagged in the massive purse that is almost as big as she is, looked up at me with those big blue eyes and said, “Please, Mama?” So slime time was upon us…Did I mention there were no instructions included?
So we charged right in! Isn’t it pretty?! I have to admit that I was grumbling under my breath trying to find a YouTube video that would instruct us step-by-step in the slime making process, but my inner little girl was a tad giddy when I saw all the pretty colors and scents you could pick from to make the most amazing “Poopsie” slime. Also included was some Unicorn Magic, Unicorn Sparkle, and Unicorn Crunch that you could mix in the slime to make it shimmery, sparkly, or just to add a little texture.
Mia chose a pink color, of course, with a fruity scent and some Unicorn Magic. We mixed and shook and let it sit for 10 minutes and the first round was a disaster. I’m not exactly sure what we did wrong, but the extremely sticky, runny mess was clearly not right, so round two was underway.
The round two slime came out beautifully, also a pink color with a fruity scent and some Unicorn Magic, however, we did lose about half a package of Unicorn Crunch on the floor. That’s just all part of the experience right?! The kit was pretty easy to use really and now Mia can basically complete a slime on her own with very little supervision.
All in all, I have to admit that the slime burden has been lifted off my shoulders a bit, since the Poopsie Slime purse has been cracked open and experienced. Just another lesson to myself that sometimes what you dread the most can actually turn out to be a pretty great bright spot in your day.
Years ago, I had a blog. You may have read it…I doubt it, but you might have! It was a day-in-the-life almost healthy living blog that I started solely to try and keep me accountable. As I tried to remain active and run on a semi-daily basis, I would blog about my running times, what I ate, the days I spent with my family and yada yada yada. Then…life happened, I had two children, I got divorced and the blog was deleted, along with my journey of personal fitness. Bam. Bam. Bam.
I’ve had several years of getting back up again, learning who I really am, and learning to actually love and believe in that person. Coming to terms with the fact that Christ redeemed me (Praise Jesus! ) after the life I had lived was almost incomprehensible to me, even though I had heard it and been taught it my entire life. Now, I can live in that truth and the freedom that I have is unreal, and I promise you, if He can redeem me, He can redeem you too. Just shoot me an email and I’ll let you know how.
With all that being said, I was taking a walk a few days ago and was thinking about how much I missed writing. I’m an HR Office Administrator for a law firm by day, which doesn’t require much fun writing 🙂 and I missed being able to talk to the world through a blog. With our country smack dab in the middle of a pandemic unlike any we’ve ever seen, I wanted to be able to add a little bright spark to my day and hopefully someone else’s as well.
So! If you see something on here you like, please let me know! If you think of something you would like to see on here, please let me know! I’m super excited to be back in this space with you 🙂
